Product Introduction

Zirconium tubular heat exchanger is a commonly used heat exchange equipment for transferring thermal energy from one medium to another.

As the tube material of the heat exchanger, zirconium exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature tolerance, making it widely applied in chemical, petroleum, metallurgical, and other industries where strict corrosion resistance requirements for heat exchanger materials are demanded.

Zirconium, the main component of zirconium materials, is a high-strength, high-melting-point metal with superior corrosion resistance.

Zirconium materials can withstand the erosion of corrosive media such as strong acids, alkalis, and organic solvents, ensuring long-term stable operation.

Meanwhile, the thermal expansion coefficient of zirconium is close to that of most metals and non-metals, reducing the risk of thermal stress and extending the service life of the heat exchanger.


Main Structure

The main structure of a zirconium tubular heat exchanger consists of heat exchange tube bundles, shell, baffle plates, end covers, tube sheets, seals, and other components. The heat exchange tube bundles are made of zirconium alloys, capable of withstanding high temperatures and corrosive media.

  • Shell Material: The shell body is fabricated from zirconium alloy plates (thickness 8-20mm), with welding joints using the same material welding wire (e.g., ERZr-5). After welding, stress relief annealing is performed (temperature 550-650℃, holding for 2 hours).
  • Tube Bundle Assembly: The tubes are made of corrosion-resistant and high-strength materials, with the inner surface polished (roughness Ra≤0.8μm) to reduce medium scaling and corrosion.
  • Tube Sheet: With a thickness of 20-100mm, it is connected to the tubes by combined strength expansion and seal welding (expansion pressure 100-150MPa), followed by 100% penetration testing after welding. The tube sheet is bolted to the shell flange, with the sealing surface using a spiral wound gasket (graphite + 316L steel strip, width 12-20mm).
  • Baffle/Support Plate: Made of the same material as the tubes, with a thickness of 6-12mm, in the form of segmental (notch height 20%-40% of shell diameter) or disk-ring type.
